Most PTO meetings will be held the second Tuesday morning of the month at 8:30 a.m. in main conference room.   If you have questions or input but cannot make PTO meetings, please email any of the PTO officers.  We will always make your voice heard.   We will send email updates as needed through the SVS office.   PTO meeting minutes will be available under the PTO tab on Shepaug website.

The events listed below are supported by the PTO financially and with volunteering opportunities.  We realize MS and HS life is very busy so we appreciate your involvement in any way possible.  If you are unable to donate your time, consider supporting our fundraising efforts.  We will be selling SVS Stadium Cushions, SVS Directories (end of September), and Yankee Candle in the fall.  There will also be basketball game concessions and a raffle at Holiday Bazaar.  In lieu of fundraising, spending your limited time and/or money, donations are greatly appreciated.  We have applied for non-for profit status for tax exemption.  Please watch your emails for information of PTO events as dates get closer.

PTO Supported Events with Tentative Time Line

Middle School

  • 6th Grade Socials – 3 a year – October, January
    • 3rd is a dance is combined with 7th and 8th  graders (May)
  • 7th and 8th Grade (Combined) Dances – 2 a year – October, January
  • Health and Wellness Day – December
  • Olympic Day – May (day after Memorial Day)
  • Staff and Teacher’s Appreciation Lunch – May
  • 8th Grade Banquet – June
  • 8th Grade Graduation Reception - June
  • Monetary Donation of $1,000 per grade for field trip costs.

High School

  • Basketball Concessions
  • Holiday Bazaar
  • Staff and Teacher’s Appreciation Lunch – May
  • Graduation Breakfast/Reception
  • $500 Post Graduation Scholarships – scholarships were awarded to five 2015 graduating seniors.
